Winter storm warning continued for:
  • Hudson Bay - Porcupine Plain, Sask. (064100)
Winter storm warning ended for:
  • Melfort - Tisdale - Nipawin - Carrot River, Sask. (065300)

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Heavy snow continues in east-central Saskatchewan, west-central and northwestern Manitoba.

Widespread snowfall accumulations of 15 to 25 cm and local accumulations of 30 to 50 cm can be expected by Wednesday evening, with northerly winds gusting to 60 km/h giving poor visibility in blowing snow.

Conditions will improve through the day Wednesday as the snow tapers off winds diminish.

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Road closures are possible.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Protect yourself from wind, cold and disorientation by staying sheltered, indoors or with your vehicle. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow. If you must travel, keep others informed of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit and mobile phone. For information on emergency plans and kits go to https://www.getprepared.gc.ca/.
