Alert Details
A prolonged period of snowfall continues as a low pressure system stalls over the province.
Locations impacted: Thompson, Nelson House, South Indian Lake, Flin Flon, The Pas, Cross Lake, Jenpeg, Oxford House, Gillam and Shamattawa.
Northeastern Manitoba will see an additional 5 to 10 cm on Thursday night into Friday giving storm total accumulations of 20 to 30 cm for most regions.
For northeastern Manitoba, the heaviest snow will likely fall between the townsites of Island Lake and Gillam giving slightly lesser amounts to the communities themselves.
The snow will taper off through the day on Friday.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
